Special issue of “Journal of Group Theory” dedicated to memory of Oleg Melnikov

There will be a special issue of “Journal of Group Theory” dedicated to the memory of Professor Oleg Melnikov who passed away on May 15, 2014. Dearly missed by his colleagues, friends and students, a prominent mathematician, he made fundamental contributions to various aspects of group theory, especially in profinite group theory and Galois theory. It is expected that these areas, among other areas of group theory, will be represented in the memorial issue.

The tentative deadline for submissions is April 30, 2015; the papers should conform to usual requirements of the Journal and can be submitted by the usual route.
