Grant of the London Mathematical Society

Simon Smith successfully secured a grant of the London Mathematical Society in the framework of Scheme 4 “Research in Pairs”. This grant will support a visit of Dr Colin Reid (Univ. of Newcastle, Australia) to Lincoln. Simon Smith and Colin Reid will continue their work on the local-to-global behaviour of groups acting on trees that enjoy the Independence Property P described by J. Tits.
