(R-L) Cheryl Praeger, Dugald Macpherson and Simon Smith
In September, the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences held the workshop From permutation groups to model theory. It was a workshop inspired by the research interests of Dugald Macpherson, in honour of his 60th Birthday. (Link: http://www.icms.org.uk/permutationgroups.php). Simon Smith was one of the invited speakers. He spoke about how Dugald’s early work on infinite distance transitive graphs with finite valency inspired Simon’s box product construction.
