On Wednesday the 7th of November 2018, Martin Edjvet (University of Nottingham) will be visiting the Charlotte Scott Centre for Algebra and giving a talk on “Relative asphericity and proving groups infinite” in INB 3305 at 2pm. His abstract is as follows:
“I will spend some time explaining what relative presentations are and what asphericity in this context means.
I will then show how this can be applied to prove certain groups (including the Fibonacci groups) infinite.”
