Algebra Seminar in Lincoln: talk by Martin Edjvet

On Wednesday the 7th of November 2018, Prof Martin Edjvet (University of Nottingham) visited the Charlotte Scott Centre for Algebra in Lincoln and gave a talk  “Relative asphericity and proving groups infinite”.

Abstract: “I will spend some time explaining what relative presentations are and what asphericity in this context means. I will then show how this can be applied to prove certain groups (including the Fibonacci groups) infinite.”
