On Wednesday the 1st of May, Chris Bowman (University of Kent) will be visiting the Charlotte Scott Centre for Algebra and giving a seminar. His talk will be at 3pm in INB3305, and the details are as follows:
Talk title: Visualising Kronecker and plethysm coefficients
Abstract: Plethysm products arise in the theory of symmetric functions and the representation theories of symmetric and general linear groups. We discuss the classification of decomposable, homogeneous, and multiplicity-free plethysm and Kronecker products. The tools we use are based on diagrammatic algebra.
