Algebra seminar in Lincoln: talk by Prof. Chris Parker

On the 6th of November 2019, Prof. Chris Parker (University of Birmingham) visited Charlotte Scott Centre for Algebra and gave a talk  “Calculating all possible conjugacy on p-groups”.

Abstract: In this talk, for a prime p,  I will discuss conjugacy of p-subgroups within a Sylow p-subgroup of a finite group. I will then describe, given a p-group S, how all possible such conjugacy might be calculated without knowing the group G.
