Abstract: The computer systems MAGMA and GAP allow us to carry out amazing calculations with groups given in various ways. As well as being useful to the experts, these systems make wide areas of group theory accessible to anyone who wishes to use group theory, but whose expertise lies elsewhere. I will give a light outline of some of the fundamental ideas, and hope to be able to show off some of the things we can do.
