On 7 October Evgeny Khukhro gave a public lecture George Boole: legacy of a mathematics revolutionary at the seminar of Department of Mathematics of University of Brasilia. Attended by about 40 members of staff and postgraduate students, the lecture attracted a lot of interest in the life and work of the famous son of Lincoln, whose ideas laid the foundations of modern algebra and mathematical logic, as well as paved the way to applications in computer science and technology.
