Simon Smith was an invited speaker at the ICMS in Edinburgh

In September, the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences held the workshop From permutation groups to model theory. It was a workshop inspired by the research interests of Dugald Macpherson, in honour of his 60th Birthday. He spoke about how Dugald’s early work on infinite distance transitive graphs with finite valency inspired Simon’s box product construction.
